3470 idle temps

Hi guys, I had just set up a mini itx rig using 3470 with stock fan.

The idle temp hovering ard 40-45 is this normal temp?

The case is kinda cramp.. cm elite 120

Or should i tear it open and try reseat?

should be ..... mine 3770k water cool also that range.

only 20% load and my temps is already 53-57.

If you load it to 100%, what temps are you getting? I think the idle temps look fine. My case is a Lian Li shoe box case, and specs is comparable to yours too. So looks fine to me to be honest.

Now at 80-90% load temps are hitting 65-71.

Is your the same too? Really dont feel like reseating... the cables is.... -_-

It's normal for stock cooler.

Hi TS. I could see that your itx rig is operaing within a safe temperature especially given its smaller limited cooling profile. I had the same cpu as you in uatx case and it typically reads off 40 to 43 on idle. However your load temps seem on the high side. Typically on gaming my 3470 operates at 48 to 52. I assume your 80 to 90 per cent load is refering to rendering or encoding. If you are concern about the temp at load reconfig to bios such that the smart saving technology is disabled and the fan is able to operate at full speed or look into the paste condition.

Hmm.. Gonna remove the stock paste and try AS5 and see if the temps would get any lowered.

Dont feel safe running at this temp for 24/7.

Considering the size of the casing that you are using, it is possible for the temps to hit this high I believe. My current case has 2x120mm intake, and 2 exhaust, 1x 120mm and 1x 140mm. At load, mine is hitting past 60+ degs.

Remembered that my old SB i5 2400 was operating past 70 degs under load with stock heatsink and my old iTX case, mainly due to the space constraints, and only a single exhaust fan that I modded in there.

Just google abit and found out stock paste provided on intel heatsink is much better then AS5.

Think I will work around with the cable management. Now looks like its "clogging" up the front air intake.
