Hi, has anyone has installed an aftermarket 360 camera? I plan to purchase a set from aliexpress as it seems to be of better quality than the one's sold by local workshops (and cheaper too). Any pros and cons? Thank you :)

I am interested in having a 360 cam as well.

Googled a bit previously and found some youtube vids of ppl doing DIY.
From the vids, mounting the front and back cam still ok, but looks like need to ownself open up the side mirror, then drill into the bottom, also must remove door panels to run the cables.

After that, must put the provided chequered mats on the floor properly to let the 4 cameras calibrate. Saw ppl using 4 measuring tapes to ensure they place the mats correctly, then calibration still failed.

The calibration part, with time, can probably edge the mats around until I succeed. The scary part is drilling into my side mirrors. Not sure what is the margin of error allowed. Suay suay I drill until left/right side not even, then how...

Agreed, that's why I decided to save the hassle of DIY and just purchase it through a local workshop. My car is a 7 seater, hence still not used to the length and width of the car,

Mind sharing roughly how much more you have to pay compared to just getting the kit from aliexpress?

Do it at workshop - it's the calibration that is labour intensive and requires experience.

If existing vehicle already has reverse camera function, how to add 360 view?

When will the 360 degree view be activated? When i shift into reverse?

I have a 360 camera installed in my ride.

1 front camera, had to change away my better rear camera, and then 2 more cameras on the side mirrors.

Set to activate only when hit signals or hazard light.

Saved me from some tight spots and parallel parking. I can't park well for parallel parking. :(

How much did it cost? Done in Singapore? What brand is it? Can be installed on any car brand?

Means the good reverse camera that you had needed to be swapped out? Not possible to choose very good quality cameras for the 360 view function?

Does your 360 view come on when put into reverse gear? Does your reverse view come with reverse guiding lines which move according to how your steering wheel is turned?

Sorry to spam so many questions?

Sorry, forgot to mention that it activates also with reverse gear.

Cost me around S$980. Installed at Foon Audio at Synergy@KB.

There are better ones out there in HD and recording. Foon recommended not to have the recording as it will drain the battery in a matter of days.

It does not come with guiding lines. My previous reverse cam came with lines that tilts if angled. But the 360 could not integrate it, so had to switch to a poorer one.

Will see the tyres if you tyres are not straight. And there is a part on the vehicle icon that I was told that if that part touches any car or walls, etc, it will mean a definite hit.

Can't remember the brand though. And I think it should be compatible with all cars, unless you can't screw and mount the cameras on the side mirror or cannot put the rear camera right in the middle. Just my thoughts.

It comes with a remote, so can do all the calibration and control. I believe you can keep the feed permanently on your HU too. Oh, I guess you must have a HU that can work with the 360 camera too.

Soon for these want to have gadget hype will be over.... I sat in many cars with reverse cam, 99% of the time the driver wont see the monitor while reversing, still the old school method: Looking at the side mirrors.

It's to assist. Why not install it if technology can help? Lol

Agreed. If your car is large MPVs: tyt vellfire, estima...etc

Again if is lying there most of time not used by owners defeat the purpose while if comes as stock then different story.
Just like cruise control.

Was once wana install this 360 cam, the shop boss asked me is it necessary for your daily usage? You car not that big anyway. :s13:

Just my views though. Individual needs and want....
