oh. didnt know that. i ask nssc they also dunno. our mob letter also never indicate...so if activate, also dunno whether it is us or not.

if open mob, because you dunno the codeword....then LLST, I also dunno if it is activated??


if silent mob, your area IC will call you, then just take instruction from your IC can liao!!!

They should send all newbies for mob briefing where the codeword is made known. They will also tell you which camp to report to, how to drive there or what public transport, etc. Your unit's mob warrant is sleeping and deserves to be demoted.

my unit send me letter (not the SAF100) on mob manning 3 month b4 the manning start...


got state the following:
-report location
-reporting time
-FBO stand items check list


the code word is only release to us during the ICT just b4 the manning start by the CO in briefing

I have receive letter from my unit regrading mob in the earlier years of ICTs & recent years of ICTs, they sent us SAF100 for 1/2 day mob briefing.


htngwilliam: If you know your unit contact number, call them up.

If no, ask NSSC to call them up for you in order to secure a 'black & white' in case you did not turn up for mod when activated.

As a commander, it is important to have NS.

Personally, i feel that it is a waste of time.

Full Time NS is there to stay but ORNS we can justify that it is not necessary.

They should post those NSF who are on their 22nd, 23rd & 24th months of service to form their NS unit for bonding & training.

In this case when the button is press, every NSmen know where to report & etc.

Since there is no ORNS, it will not affect our civilian's commitment such as work/family/studies/etc & allow us to stay as competitive as possible with our foreign peers.

SAF = Waste of ppl time.

I am very confuse about this unit. My previous unit is so good where they will send you a reminder with the activation code etc....this FCSSB gave us a briefing 2 years back and of cos inform us about the activation code...but on ns.sg, can't even find code and field pack list...

Then I call NSSC and ask them and they say unit need 5 working days to get back..however, if activate, will get SMS no matter open or silent mob...

Lastly, we have to call ops room just to make sure. If activate, sure got ppl pick up and if not, no one pick up...another way is to call activation hotline and it is a computer system to tell u whether activate or not

This system is since my Father's Day and they should change this system to make it more efficient

I believe during your father's era, they are all issued with a mob manning pager. It will beep if activated.
