I'm still holding on to Singtel's $12/10GB 3G data add-on subscription coupled with an old obsolete classic plan. How is 4G's performance nowadays? Is it worth (or necessary) to upgrade? Thanks.

Personally I feel that 4G is a nice bonus to have but not a must. 3G is speedy enough for me. You should try find out if the area you often use your phone at has 4G coverage.

Keep your 10GB plan, 3G should be ok ba.. its worth more than current dataplans man.

Keep until 1 fine day 5yrs later, Singtel finds it commercially not viable to provide 3G, and upgrade everyone to 4G, as maybe in future all their systems that they buy no longer support 3G as option, minimum 4G.. :s13:

If I were you, I would just keep the 10GB plan on 3G. The upgrade to 4G is not worth in terms of value per GB data and the speed is negligible.

Btw, the new SingTel 4G Mobile Broadband plan is $49.90pm for 10GB of data!

Many of my colleagues have regretted letting go of their 3G plan with 12GB of bundled data in exchange of the 4G plan!

Was thinking of re-contract to EasyMobile M Plan. I need to pay ~$16 more monthly to get 4G, although discounted price of a new phone may offset that a bit. But most probably the phone I want will not be carried by Singtel.

Thanks for your advice. Think I'll continue keeping the 10GB for the mean time...
