3G 4 bars, 4G 2 bars: normal?

Whenever I switch to using 4G network, my phone signal can only get 2 bars max. If I set to 3G, it becomes 4 bars. The battery drain also seems faster in 4G.

I have tested in multiple places with same result.

Is this normal for local telco coverage or it may be due to poor phone design/antenna?

telco issue. try using singtel instead of starhub

both networks use different infrastructure, and by right 3G has greater indoor penetration than 4G, due to the lower frequency network being used.

Sometimes, its network dependent, so u can compare with other users of other networks and see if its consistent?

Idk, but my older 4/5yr sets with LTE serm to be less efficient, but when on 3G-only power consumption seems lower with same SOT.
Is it just placebo effect?

Newer sets, like from 2/3yrs ago dun seem this way.

Anyway, i rarely use lte band.
Always set on 3G only lol
