3G/4G and whatsapp

My Iphone with IOS 9.3 is not able to connect to whatsapp via 3G/4G. When I launch whatsapp, it just hung at "connecting to network". However it works fine with WI-FI connection. It just happened recently and I did not perform any software updates. Also restarted phone but it didn't help. Any idea what could be the cause?

Go to Settings --> Cellular/Mobile --> Scroll down and find WhatsApp.

Check and see if you enabled or turn on WhatsApp to use cellular or data service.
