Anyone can tell me this one shiong or not??? Got a few people tell me damn shiong but a few tell me 42 Sar damn lepak + report to chief clerk so cfm lepak. Not really sure so asking for help. Anyone??

You report to Chief Clerk (S1 Branch = HR Dept) on your 1st day, so that they can sent you to the correct Company in 42SAR. Your vocation is Amour Infantry.

I think conventional rumour is that 40 SAR is more xiong but I think there isnt probably too much difference between AI of 42 SAR and 40 SAR.

posting is done based on a variety of factors. Education and IPPT maybe two of those.

Seriously, no one know how one end up in a vocation. However without a qualification like Polytechnic Diploma or GCE A, one will not end up in command school especially OCS. NS deployment is never fair & I believe most of us have witness that those have leadership capability end up become an enlistee rank while CMI (Cannot Make It) guy end up becoming a commander.


The official way is to ask your son to request his unit thur his commander to recommend him & post him out to other training school to re-vocation. However most likely he will not get it & will be mark by his commander/instructor for the rest of his life in 40SAR.

He is the quiet one. Hope you can guide him, always wanted him to be more positive and grow up from ah boy to man...

Yes, he did ask me to call / write , as parents, ask why is the happening to his posting. That is why I'm searching the internet if it is possible to get some advise because I'm damn worry if by asking the transfer will affect or mark....So by asking to transfer is no point loh...

Everyone want to be in that certain vocation & not the current vocation that they are deployed. I

t is your son's right as serviceman to request but can you imaging if everyone request the same thing, how is 40SAR & SAF going to operate if they are going to approve him?

That why they needs to have value reason to accept his request & a good example will be medical unfit.
