Zero Fidelity has a review of the bookshelves.. which are the rear in this set ..

The included Sony subwoofer is the weakest point.. can sell it away and upgrade when you find something better.

My budget is super low also leh. My 5 2nd hand mission LX speakers cost less than $600 total. Just that I spent more on the receiver and subwoofer. The ceiling/atmos speakers if I add any will be the most not-worth-it. That's why I take so long still haven't done it.

for movies only? whats your budget?

Based on how much I spent on normal speakers obviously budget would be close to the price of entry level bookshelf speakers. Cannot be I spend $500 on normal speakers and I spend 5k on atmos right? Haha

Ok just sharing again... I read on forums that many people seem to like the sound of svs prime elevation speakers for atmos effect.

So I looked up the specs and it says it has 87db/ watt sensitivity and frequency range of 55hz to 25khz. So that is very similar to a bookshelf speaker. Most other satellite speakers have much more limited range starting from 100hz and higher.

Problem is... svs elevation may be too expensive for most people. So maybe we can enjoy similar atmos performance if we can find other satellite speakers that also have similar frequency range.

Hope experts here can tell me if I'm wrong.

Oh ok thanks jedi5diah. But this list only has upfiring atmos modules. I still believe downfiring speakers will be better. Especially if your ceiling is not suitable for reflecting sound the way the upfiring speakers is designed for. My emphasis on the frequency range may also be important. Of cos one must also note that many speaker manufacturers post unreliable frequency range.

Locally it was available for a period than they decide to stop selling.
Alternate is Pioneer Andrew jones which can be brought locally.
However it is sold with AVR but not separately.

This isn't available for delivery to Singapore. Is it available at local sites/resellers?

Hi!

I'm trying to build a setup for my new HDB.
I am building it around the Marantz SR6013/SR6014 receiver, but I want to keep the budget up to 2000 s$.
So, my speaker package options are limited to Mission, Wharfedale, Polk audio or used sets.
Any recommendations? it's a small 3room HDB, but I do intend to add 2 speakers for 5.1.2 atmos sooner than later.
If you have any cheap finds both in terms of the Marantz receiver (don't offer me onkyo or others) or the speaker packages - I'll be happy to consider.

Thanks!

So, first step was finally taken by buying a slightly used Wharfedale Crystal 5.0 set from @benedium - thanks man!
Next will be Sub-woofer, and AV receiver, but I'm in no hurry whatsoever..
