What kind of investment options I have?

Not a big risk taker but can swallow some heat.

Looking for something with around 5% roi

Invest in a regular savings plan with fundsupermart, put into funds which deal with short term bonds and equity. 5% PA over 10 years should not be a problem.

5% for a regular savings plan is a bit high for the current environment. I suppose if you really want it, you can try allocating most of it to unit trusts, which do accept regular new money, and the rest to a regular savings account that now yields around 1% pa. Or you can wait until you have a few thousand each time and buy stocks. No unit trust and no stock, even a high dividend yield stock, can guarantee you a specific return like 5%, but over 5-10 years it is quite achievable.

Open a brokerage account with Standard Chartered and plow it into an ETF linked to the Straits Times Index - there's one with a $300 lot size, if memory serves, so you can buy 1-2 lots a month. Over 10 years, you'll blow the doors off any insurance policy or RSP.

When i first started off investing, I did the RSP with FSM too. However a year later, i realised it was not making money because there was so much management fees etc.

Hence i changed to SGX instead and it was a good move. If you asked me, I will start from dividends stocks first instead of putting into RSP.

5%? Now like don’t really have.. Had a look at the singapore investments rates for banks like posb, ocbc.. Maybe you can invest in foreign currency or else stocks? But it will be riskier than unit trusts etc.. Important is to only invest what you're willing to lose..
