A friend of mine need help to build a $500 - $600 gaming rig (only CPU)
He only play Dota2 and CSGO, dont need to be played in high specs or performance.
Hopefully it can run CSGO at 1280x960 with 200+ ingame fps. :s13:

Very tight LOLx-

PC Themes

Asrock B85 HDS+i5 4460- $367
Crucial 8GB Ram-$97
Silverstone PS08 White MATX+Thermaltake 530W modular-$115
Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM-$69

Its already $648

And i wont call it gaming just for normal usage. CS GO and DOTA should be ok.

I think can go for i3 or pentium chips and go for H81? Cut cost for some better GPU like 250X/250

You could consider an AMD APU build (CPU with integrated GPU) to cut down the cost.

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) The cheapo rig should be capable of 30-40+ FPS at max settings in 1080p in CS:GO and DOTA 2. The $800 rig is capable of playing these games at 100+ FPS in 1080p. Performance should improve if playing at lower resolutions.

2) Do note that these rigs do not have an SSD due to budgetary limitations and you may want to consider an SSD upgrade in the future.

Not so sure that the HD 7730 with DDR3 VRAM is actually significantly faster than the R7 240 with DDR3 VRAM. :s11:

HD 7730 is essentially an underclocked R7-250
R7-240 is further cut down version of HD 7730, only comparable to HD 6570/6670
