5070 ti no display

I flashed BIOS and then tried 2x 8pin pcie to 12vhpwr and then used the 16pin 12v-2x6 adapter. Still no luck. Not sure how to update the gpu firmware when I don’t have onboard graphics.

I’m leaning more towards this being a faulty GPU because initially I managed to get it to display for a short time, but then now I’m not getting anything at all. Think RMA is my next best option.

Bring back to the shop let them test.
Hopefully you brought from shop not from Carousell seller.
GPU Bios don't need to update, any issue usually is bring back to shop or service center.

Sorry TS, still suspect is your motherboard issue.
You haven't shared:

- What is your motherboard model?
- Did you enabled full UEFI mode?
*CSM/Legacy mode under BIOS must disabled.

It's probably a firmware issue more than a GPU issue, RMA will waste a lot of time. If u want, u can bring it down to SLS and ask them for help with the firmware

It's a known issue that the 5000 series got a bug that do not show display output with certain configurations.

Although, just like you, there was also one time i got display output, idk how too, but it was just that one time. After i updated the firmware, then the issue is 100% fixed.

The update is for Graphics Output Protocol module, not vbios btw.

To tell that if you have this issue is when the PC boot and post, the screen shows nothing, and inside windows it needed Nvidia drivers installed to have display output.

I think if able to load into windows desktop, just download this nvidia updater and run it like any exe and follow the onscreen instructions . Just make sure no other automatic updates taking place in background

My mb is b450 tomahawk max lol. It’s in my original post. But yeah I’ve had full UEFI enabled since the day I got the mb

Chill cuz MSI B450 Tomhawk got two version, one Max and the other non-max.
The BIOS is also different cuz I am checking if got any mention of RTX GPU not compatible.
BIOS you flash is 7C02v3K correct?

UEFI boot for this mobo should be this logo than a circle at the bottom.

If you see this than is not UEFI boot

Unfornuately MSI Motherboard BIOS can be buggy so is not GPU issue but motherboard doesn't
support the RTX 5070 Ti.
If you bring to distro, it will confirm work they will definetely ask you to change to another motherboard
and try again.

I still suggest you sell it off and get a RTX 4060 Ti brand new which should be able to work
on this mobo. Some may start to bash me why go for RTX 4060 Ti cuz this is only card
that is suitable with older builds that you can still buy brand new.

RTX 4060 Ti will work on older PC with gen 3 for sure.

or try the hdmi port like Phen8210 bro. objective is to install latest nvidia drivers then run the nvidia updater.

got an idea, TS to put back old gpu in main pcie slot, and also put the 5070ti in the next available slot, connect both their power cables and try boot with both gpu installed.

this is to use the old gpu as display. if can get into windows, can install nvidia drivers. then shut and remove old gpu and put 5070ti to main pcie slot. if can boot windows, is success! then run the updater.

if otherwise just go to distro and ask them test, either they update or replace a working one.

yeah, this the way to go

previously i boot up, then i go ddu (clean and shutdown), then put in new gpu and niama black screen all the way

also my mb got gen 4 and 5 support so that wasnt the problem

I definitely have UEFI boot. Flashed to latest BIOS as well. I'm using a ATX mb as well, so no way I can fit both GPUs in the case.

The seller agreed to take back the GPU and test it. So will see how it goes from there

B450 is quite old , if u can afford 5070ti better get recent gen motherboard
