Hi bros

What do you think of the below build, price from PC Themes. Any way to optimize further on price/performance?


AMD Ryzen 5600X / Asrock B550m Pro4 $615

ZOTAC RTX 3070 8GB TWIN EDGE OC or
PALIT RTX 3070 GAMING PRO 8GB OC or
GALAX RTX 3070 8GB 1-CLICK SG or
MSI RTX 3070 8GB VENTUS x2 OC ~$850 depending which have stock

CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 3600MHZ CL18 ( 8GBx2pcs ) AMD $129

CRUCIAL P2 SERIES 1TB NVMe M.2" SSD $163

SEASONIC FOCUS GX-650W FULL GOLD 10YRS $159

LIAN LI LANCOOL II MESH PERFORMANCE TG $159


Looks like can save ~$60 by buying RAM & SSD from amazon.sg. Will look out for BF sale. Other than that, any other suggestions?

You got really good and well thought out build except you might want to think about 3rd party cooler like Yongkit mentioned. If you game in aircon room, it's a non issue imo. And add a few dollars and get steel legend instead of pro4

And get a 3080/6800 xt for another 300$ :p. It's probably just a tiny bit above your budget if you buy ssd and ram from amazon/newegg and if you consider getting a cheaper casing

Will consider the cooler. really need ah? thought a good airflow case is enough if no OC.

Honestly I don't even mind the $300 upgrade for 3080. but then I would need 750w or 850w PSU, upgrade to 32gb RAM... and finally buy a new 4k monitor and completely blow my budget.... 😅

think 3070 good enough for my 1080p 144hz monitor!

Good airflow case sometimes does not equal to direct CPU cooling, also the good airflow case means it will push out all the heat from PC and spread to your room, unless you are gaming in aircon room, otherwise I suggest you casing is better far away from your seat when you are gaming :)

it is not a must requirement as you can still use stock cooler first.

I am assuming you are DIY regular and if your stock cooler performance not within your expectation you can easily change a better cooler at later time :)

PC Themes told you they have stock for 5600x?

I called them and was placed on waiting list so I'm quite surprised to see that they can quote you a 5600x build

I recommend hyper 212 too. I remember first starting to tinker into PC hardware about 7 years ago. CM Hyper 212 was the cooler to get to do great cooling on a budget.

7 years later it still hasn't changed. I think there is a reason it is such a timeless classic. I just ordered one for my dad's 4770k that I passed to him too.

If 1080p for the future, 3070 is a great choice. 750w/850w psu is only a few dollars more and why need more ram? Lol. You're good to go. Take this same list and ask tradepac, mediamart,viipc for quotation.

I have a different take on 3070. I think it will be good for 1440p for a while, at least 2 years or so.

Thanks guys. Will upgrade mobo to B550m Steel Legend, add Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and upgrade PSU to 750w

Now the tricky part, to find stocks at decent price :s22:

is it ok to consider the normal hyper 212 CM? i check pctheme price list, they don't have the evo version.
