$600 budget rig for DOTA2

Hi guys, my friend is getting a rig for dota2 mainly at max settings 1920x1080 and normal usage with a budget of $600. Is it possible to squeeze in an SSD? If not just a normal HDD would suffice. Would need some recommendations. Thanks!

Dont get anything lower than R9 270X if you want to run Dota2 at max settings, you'll regret it.

Above 60 fps? Definitely possible. Smooth? You obviously havent played it in constant 120fps.

problem is 250x is not worth for its money. might aswell don't get and use IGPU instead or even better. save up and get an 290X

For a casual gamer, probably. If you're playing a ~5k game with decent players on both sides, you'll be severely handicapped with that kind of frame rates.

Powercolor 270x is $259 SRP, hardly a ridiculous budget breaker for $600. A little step down at R9 270 can be had for ~$200 too. Good enough for stable >100fps in Dota 2 maxed @ 1080p.

And 4-5k mmr is your average joe with a bit of brains and willing to try hard, 7k is smaller than top 1% and nobody plays dota 2 @ 120hz.

My suggestions were serious and coming from an actual player of the game, not just asking TS to chiong for higher end card for age-old fps numbers game.
