If your gpu can handle it, then by all means.
What games do you all play at 144 or 240hz?
I am still running 60hz for overwatch. I do not find the need to splurge

It's not really worth buying 144hz unless you play FPS games where you can see the biggest difference
But now 144hz 200plus can get. Hard to say not worth liao
I promise you, the change from 60hz to 144hz for OW (need to change the video settings in the game too) is DAMN GOOD. You will surely notice the difference, especially if you have been gaming on 60hz for a long time like me in the past.
Overwatch was the first game i tried after upgrading to my current rig & the monitor from 60hz to 144hz, it felt so damn liberating lol. Especially since that time I was heavily invested to OW, so I could easily tell the difference when I upgraded.
But the main part for me is that also, apart from gaming, I can easily tell how smoother it feels when you just surf & browse the net in general or when just using your PC for everyday applications. That's why I think the upgrade for me is really worth it.
Will probably upgrade to 240hz after my current rig gets busted in a few more years or so, but I heard some people say that the upgrade from 144hz to 240hz is not so noticeable as compared to 60hz to 144hz, is that really true?
Its not just about refresh rate only. Screen type (IPS, VA, TN), connection ports, monitor adjustments, etc also do play a part in overall user experience.
If pay slightly more to get better screen and more variety in adjustments, it would serve the user better in the long run.
I personally feel 240hz is unnecessary. How many games can hit 240fps? Not to mention the amount of gpu power you need to power it. Unless you don't mind 720p or something
The only reason why 144hz is acceptable now is because hardware which can run 144hz @ 1080p are much more mainstream aka gpu(rtx 2060/GTX 1660/to) and monitor(take your pick from the large amount of choices)
Furthermore, it also depends on the player. Like for me, I prefer eye candy so 1440p @ 60hz ultra/very high is great. Try gpu intensive games like the new assassin's Creed or tomb raider @1440p ultra/very high and try to hit 144hz. It's difficult even with rtx 2080ti. Those games average around 80-100fps with it.
Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone can help. Im also wanting to get into this 144hz thingy. I'm still using quite an old system. i5, 8gb ddr3 with a gtx750ti. Is it possible for me to just purchase a gtx1660ti and a 24" 1080p 144hz monitor? If so any recommendation of a monitor ? I only play dota 2 and spend most of my time surfing net and watching shows. I am thinking getting into pubg though. Thanks!

Not only for fps games lah... even 3rd person AAA games i cant stand low frames when u turn around it looks laggy. 144 for all games is the mot ideal. Of course its hard for demanding titles but dont limit urself tto 60.

I dun really care much about fps if i play offline AAA. Above 80 fps is good enough.
