The protestors are seen to hold banners to lodge real name report (In West / SG, we have anoynomous whistleblowing policy. In China, your whistleblowing must be made public, i.e the whole 1.4 billion ppl knows your name, and probably even ID number should they watch the popcorn before any investigation starts) against some local officers.
The banner even wrote "还我财产" (Return my property), so it is likely that the protestors are facing en-bloc dispute where either they do not want to be evicted or the compenstation was being corrupted by that local officer and thus never received.
And yes, it was heard before of 官商勾结 (chaoots between officals and businessmen) so the jury system there is bribed in the way such that there is no legal recourse in reality other than via social media.
But since somehow they are in US, they could be jolly well protesting against this local officer for "abusing his power" by confiscating the properties based on the virtue that the protestors' religion is "Falungong", something that is outlawed in PRC (Because it refused to register as an entity when it was given a chance in 90s) but is a registered entity (thus legal) in SG.
And those FLG cultist fav place is --- US.
