just wanna know the rough estimated money to bring along in this trip ... would 3k be enough ?
Would be doing sightseeing, & mostly eating & shopping

excluding hotel, S$50 per person per day for food, transport and purchases. Also depends on what you buy. If you are buying expensive stuff, then you need to bring more.

I never spend more than S$10 on each meal. Then, I'm not a fanciful eater. I spend quite a bit on books though but usually I'll use my credit cards to make payment for the books. I hardly shop except buying books.

3K for 1 person? Definitely enough.

I usually shop for skin care and cosmetic stuffs and 3k is good for 2 pax IMO. My hubby doesn't really shop, just eat eat only.

Hi, its my 2nd time there since 5 years ago and i actually got no idea what to do there.

Basically, i intend to go there and enjoy the winter and food, possibly visit some places with good scenery and some light shopping.

I am going with my wife and i like to have your advise on the amount i should bring as i will be going from monday to friday.

i cramp a typical singaporean favourite itinerary:

Day itinerary 1
jiu fen
jing-gua shi
shi fen
ping xi
jing tong
keelung night market

Day itinerary 2
dan shui
bei tou day market
new bei tou (hot spring)
shih lin night market
national palace museum
yang ming shan

i did this 2 on the respective days.
itinerary 1 woke up at 6am ish. dead tired and not recommended

your day one is jin rush? i wanted to do to go jinguashi, jiufen, shifen,pingxi but was advised that its very rush.

nope not that rush actually.
~7.15am - 8am: TRA train leaves taipei. lots of students going to rui fang station
8.08 - 8.47am > rui fang to shi fen. no shops open still
shi fen waterfall opens 9.30am
10.47 - 11.05am > shih fen to jing tong
1 hour at jing tong
12.15 - 12.23pm > jing tong to ping xi
1 hour at ping xi
1.23pm - 2.17pm > ping xi to jiu fen. train was terribly crowded
2.20 - 3pm > bus to jing gua shi. see the golden waterfall. poor bus connections
4pm - arrive jiu fen
5.15pm - bus 788 to keelung night market
6.15pm: arrive keelung
7.40pm - 8.20pm : TRA back to Taipei

didnt really feel rushed as we never venture far out of the station. only rush was shi fen waterfall, as it opens at 9.30 and we need take 10.47train

You hardly spent much time at each location.

It seems like an itinerary an organized tour group would follow. Get down, walk about 100-200m, take photos, maybe have a drink or small meal, head to next location.

In the end you covered many places, but did you really see/experience much?
Your statement "didn't venture far out of the station" pretty much sums it up.
