Need more capacity to expand my current 3TB in my Desktop.
Narrow down to this 2 HDD:

-WD Red 6TB
-Hitachi Deskstar 6TB 0S03841

Which is the ideal choice?

Thankz In Advance :D

Hi TS,
I'm also looking to buy 6TB harddisk from either hitachi or WD.
I have a concern though, i'm using it on a P45 motherboard, assuming u are too, do you think there will be any compatibility issue? like motherboard cannot detect and utilize all 6TB.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread.

High capacity has more disc platters = more moving parts = more points of failure.

I usually do not buy the highest capacity hdd.

Using 16x HGST Deskstar NAS 6TB.
Speed is much faster than WD Red.
Temperature 1~2 degrees higher than WD Red
