Really dependent on company one. My company allows USB portable charger, just that the USB cable cannot be multiport, etc let you charge iPhone android from the same cable. Confinement week can just bring in and use, if cannot then after confinement you take out lor.
I enlisted in June btw, ptp batch. Tekong not really as bad as people think of it. Yes, can bring cigs in, I brought 4 packs for confinement and it was barely enough. In short, you give the commanders standard, they will let you have your smoke break. For my company avg is 4 smoke breaks per day. Also for cigs, my company let us keep our own cigs, then we take out whenever we get the permission to smoke. For some companies the commanders keep all the cigs then issue to recruits when they smoke.
And yes, all smartphones regardless of screen size is allowed. Do note tablets even with phone functions are not allowed, so don't go and bring your galaxy tab in.
