Hello!
We're 3 guys going from Taiwan for 7 days, any recommendations on which city/must visit areas between Taipei - Hualien? 7 days seems abit too much for only 2 cities but dont know what to add.

Appreciate all help!

I'm going to spend 5 days in Taipei and surrounding areas later in the year. So many places and things to eat in and around Taipei alone. And I've been to Taipei several times already.

Just wondering, for day trips from Taipei, have you considered Pingxi Branch Line? I personally love the place a lot - old quaint towns and a chance to sit on an old train to visit all these places. Pingxi is also where you can release the iconic sky lanterns. Definitely worth a day trip!

But taichung is opposite end of Hualien.. will it be very long travelling all around?

Few hrs on the TRA which is why seldom got ppl wana do this..

I too am just planning for a 3D2N Hualien and the rest in Taipei for my next trip..Drop the idea of a day trip to Taichung as well..Waste of $$ and precious time..

Take HSR only 1hr each way to/from Taichung. If not stay overnight. Taichung worth to visit at least once, for the fengjia nm.

If you take HSR lorx..But nah, gonna skip this..Probably do a Beitou, Miramar + 1-2 other location on that empty day..

Somemore is NT$700/pax if no early booking discount.. :s13:

Just treat it as taxi fare. Also it will also be interesting if first time take the HSR. Can see the speed exceeding 300kph inside the cabin.
