7 nights in Japan...... Can anyone suggest on the places to visit?....... 2 pax travelling.... Aiming to cover as much of Japan as possible.... But at a comfortable pace.... Aim is to sight see and also shopping.

P.S. We should be backpacking....... So Not necessary to be in the same hotel

japan so big, which part you going? 7 days not even enough to cover tokyo alone. do provide more details such as date, things to do, buy, eat and see. Budget for accommodation.

7 nights only Tokyo + Day trip to Nikko or Kamakura that's all.
Japan is a huge country, maybe 70 days can cover as much of Japan

Since I have been to Japan 9 times, let's say average 10 days (but actually is more but never mind), but I still many places yet to cover! I think maybe 200 days might be enough. :s13:

It depends where you stay and what time you arriving the airport and which airport.

- You may cater 1 full day for Mount Fuji and surrounding such as the lake and premium outlet
- Disneysea or Disneyland for a day
- Harajuku, meiji shrine, omotensando, ayoma and ueno in a day
- Shibuya, tokyo tower, roppongi hill, Asakusa, akihabara, tokyo, tsukiji market, ginza
- Shinjuku and ikebukuro
- Tokyo dome, yokohama

This are just the few places/areas you should visit. Do draft an itinerary so that we can advise you further so that you don't waste time/money moving around

Ok guys.... I have planned a little for the trip. Would need ur advice to see if this is feasible! :D Thanks in advance :D

Day 1: Arrival at Narita: JR Pass up to Osaka

Things we can do at Osaka :

Osaka Castle
Umeda Sky Building
Tempozan Ferris Wheel
Osaka Castle Park
Isshinji Temple
Kuromon Market

Think we should be able to spend around 2.5 days in Osaka

1 Day in kyoto

(Kyoto) I really don't know what to do!

1 Day Mount Fuji (Hiking Up) (Need to find place to deposit bag)

3 Days in Tokyo

In tokyo, we shall be visiting these area

Tsukiji Fish Market
Tokyo Sky Tree
Pokemon Center
Sensoji (Buddhist Temple)
Meiji Shrine
Hachiko Statue
Kabukicho
Akihabara
Zojoji Temple
Doraemon Museum (Fujiko F. Fujio Museum)

Possible to help me list down which area is nearer to which area? So that I can actually incur less cost in travelling?

And if I am travelling to the above places, Should I take the JR Pass?

my take is to not go to Kansai and leave that for another time when you can spend around 10-12 days in Japan...

Kyoto, if you like the stuff there can easily take up 2-3 days even if u do day trips from Osaka.

iirc U can only hike up to 5th station unless u make arrangements for the climbing season... having said that, the area around Mt Fuji is also very nice

there are a few Pokemon centers, the Tokyo one is in Minato ku. Nearest JR station is Hamamasutcho... There is one in Chiba and in Yokohama

then, how should i plan my schedule for the 3 days in osaka and tokyo????

so long as you make the shinkansen trips ie tokyo-osaka-tokyo, your 7days JR pass will worth the money. In between you just choose to take JR trains and all those will be your gain/bonus.

I will opt to stay around Mt Fuji , Hakone ryokan for 1 night at least , the rest of 5 days can explore Tokyo.

No point travel here and there, rushing back to back. If you run out of ideas for Tokyo, can go to japanican and see any day trips.
