Hi, was wondering if its worth to upgrade my ATI 7970 card to something from the current generation of gfx cards eg. gtx 970 or a slightly older 290

Will it be of a big difference?

Just to prep for some BF hardline and project cars

Depends really. If gaming at 1440p and feel that framerates are slowing down, 970s and r9 290x are quite attractive.

If at 1080p, stay with 7970 for now.

At least 20% difference in graphics processing power between the 970 and the 7970
