Hello all, would need some help in advising/recommending if the below itinerary is ok as it's my first time there with my family - there will be 5 of us (Parents in their 50s and 3 young adults). Also, which are the locations below that I would need to hire a driver? Lastly, any hot spring area to recommend ? Many thanks all! :s12:

-Lavender cottage , Yizhong street for shopping
-Fengjia Night market

Day 2

- Proceed to Cing Jing farm / Evergreen Grassland
- Stayover at Cing Jing

Day 3

- Proceed to Hualien
- Head to Taroko Gorges
- Ziqiang Night Market

Day 4

- Head over to Jiufen
- Wupenfu
- Raohe Night Market

Day 5

Day 1 , if I were to engaged a driver, would it be too rush as well? or is it not worthwhile? are there any recommendations?

Day 2, It's too rush for day 2 as well? Would engaging a driver be more worthwhile than taking a bus there?

Appreciate your help :)

Thanks for the help too! Shall google the early bird discount. However, I was wondering, for a family of 5, would engaging a driver be cheaper than the train ride? Although i'm incline to try out the bullet train too, haha

Day 1 depends on what time u land and also if any elderly or kids, you need to let them catch their breath..Once u reach Taichung for a group of 5, good to engage a driver..

Day 2 if wan take bus is leave early morning on the 1st bus..Can get a driver also for this day..

Day 3 for CJ to Hualien, booked a driver..Leave early for Hehuanshan sunrise, continue on to Taroko..

Hi

If there are 5 of you, you may want consider engaging a driver. Fuss free and can go more places. I only engage driver for outside Taipei cos in taipei quite easy to go around via mrt. For jiufen, you may want to plan it such that the driver will bring you on the last day before going back Taipei. The driver normally can plan your itinerary. Just tell him the main places you hope to visit.

For your day1 is it from airport? If yes can get the driver to pick you from airport and drive straight to Taichung. You can look at my taiwan nov 12 itinerary:

i think u should skip one of the night market. of course you can engage a driver.

you can take a bus from the bus coy near taichung station to qingjing and explore yourself. engage driver i personally think quite a waste if its only qingjing. For the next day you sld get a driver to ferry you across the mountain.

haha hsr too expensive ah ?
but if you engage driver, the ride is abt 3 hrs also.
think hsr would be better ... faster to reach taichung and save time.
From what I know, if you engage a taipei driver to drive you to Taichung, you have to pay for his accommodation, then bo hua ...

Unless you take HSR to taichung, then you engage taichung driver to bring u

What's the average cost per day for a driver?

Actually, i'm not really sure the typical cost of a driver for a day, roughly how much will it be? What can I actually do at qingjing other than the farm? Does it take the whole day to be there?

Is your parents okay to carry luggage up and down the stair?
If yes, you can engage engage driver at Taichung for D1 , D2 , D3 and D4.

Taipei easy access by their MRT

For driver, bcoz you have 5 person. The cost will be higher.
U need T5 car.

Wish is okay for 5 person if don't have luggage.

If you engage a driver that stay at the city will be cheaper.. b'coz u don't need to pay their stay.
Cingqing, farm and The Small Swiss Garden, nothing much. U don't need driver to drive you around at Cingqing if you stay near the centre.
BUT if you choose a minsu that is far away. Then u might want to check with the minsu , do they had free shuttle car to the centre.

From day 1 to day 4, I have a quote from a driver of NT 6000 a day inclusive of accomodation . Is NT 6000 a reasonable amount for a day?
