7D6N itinerary advice

I have been to Taiwan 2x with package tours, so already covered most major attractions, this time going with friends on FE, 2 person hasn't been to Taiwan before, so need to cover a couple of major attractions. I come up with the following rough itinerary, is it practical? Please advise/suggest. I haven't try looking for lodging since not confirm the itinerary yet.

1. Airport take train to Chiayi, then bus to Alishan, stay @ Alishan Minsu, walk walk see see in Alishan, morning try go see sunrise, then pack up go down back to Chiayi.
2. Chiayi to Taichung by train, check-in @ a Taichung hotel/Minsu, go Jiji train trail, got time then go Dongpu, if not night go night market.
3. Take bus from Taichung to Cingjing, relax at the meh meh farm, then night can see twinkle twinkle stars and maybe book a cab go see sunrise @ Hehuanshan, checkout and back to Taichung.
4. Taichung to Taipei by train, checkin hotel, Beitou Hot Spring, ximending/shilin/raohe night market whichever nearer.
5. Taipei to Yehliu, then Chiufen then ……………………
6. Pingxi station, Wufenpu, Taipei 101, night market
7. More shopping then go airport

1) Need take taxi or bus to Taoyuan TRA Station for Train. Also have to see what time u landing..TRA from Taoyuan Station to Chiayi Station is about 3hrs, bus up to Alishan Main Recreation Area is another 2hrs.
4) Shilin would be nearest
5) Can consider Jinguashi after Jiufen..When back at Ruifang Station can consider going Keelung for Miaokou NM..
6) I doubt you have enough time for this especially if you're going to explore a few stops on Pingxi Line..Train interval is like 1hr per train. Shifen old street after 11am then most shop open.. Make sure not on Monday as Wufenpu is catered for wholesaler on Monday.

Taking Jetstar, arriving 6am. Can make it to Alishan by noon right?

My trip is in May(13-19), would it be hot already or still cool weather? must still bring long sleeves?

Hot, some rain here and there..Just wear normal, no need sweater..

Can can..Did that back in 2013 on Scoot flight..Sit until backside swollen..

12+am left SG, landed Taoyuan 5+ almost 6..Cab to Taoyuan Station wait for 7+am train, sat another 3hrs, reach Chiayi around 11, rest abit and sat the bus up for Lauya Minsu which is 30mins away from the main area..


But we didnt rush the main park on day 1, rested abit, wash up and went Fenchihu..Came back for an early night, next morning went up for sunrise then we went to explore Alishan..

Ahh...too much sitting for the day..

Or should we go to Taichung > Cingjing > Chiayi > Alishan, less sitting and more time see sightseeing or is it same?

Lauya Minsu is not in the main area, then how to go up to the main area? The bus from Chiayi don't go straight up there, have to alight and take another bus?

Lauya Minsu is recommended even if its not in main area?

Alishan got bus to Fenchihu or is it train?

Well, the sequence is up to you..It would be the same time wise..

There's a bus stop just further up from Lauya which is the same bus which brings you from Chiayi to the main area..But we took shared driver in the morning to go up main area for sunrise..

Main area come night fall also nothing much except for 7-11 so we went Fenchihu tabao dinner back to eat..

Train wise only from Chiayi to Fenchihu, this segment has been repaired..Fenchihu to main area still down..
