Just booked the Jetstar 1-for-1 tickets to Taiwan next year end April for 7 days. I have been there almost 3 years ago but more of a touch and go trip covering Taipei, Taichung (including SML), Chiayi and Alishan whereby it was mainly sightseeing.

This time round, I would like to concentrate more of shopping, eating with probably abit of sightseeing.

Is it realistic to cover Tainan, Taichung and Taipei in 7days?

Planning the following:

Day 1: Taipei to Tainan
Day 2: Tainan
Day 3: Tainan to Taichung
Day 4: Taichung to Taipei
Day 5: Taipei
Day 6: Taipei
Day 7: Taipei - Sg

from taoyuan airport, u hav to go to a place where there is alot of bus, then u can ask if they have from taoyuan to tainan (which i think most probably have, because the bus system connects basically to every major city)

i tink with 7 days there, its also an touch n go trip..i spend 26 days in Taipei alone last year and i juz manage to cover everything in Taipei.

Wah same as u I be going 7 days on 28th Apr - 4th May with my wife 1 for 1 jetstar too.. I was like there 6 yrs ago lol since my last trip..

I am still planning in progress.. But will be going only Taichung, Hualian, Taipei only.. Maybe can discuss together here hahaha..

From taoyuan, is there any bus direct to Taichung? What time does Fengjia market starts?

Are you referring to Taoyuan International Airport? If yes, there are buses to Taichung. when you go out of the arrival hall, turn right and go all the way to another junction and turn right again and go all the way. There are buses to Taipei and Taichung.

Most night markets start at about 6pm.

-Sightseeing Day (Yeh liu, Jiufen, Pingxi Line, Keelung NM, etc)
-Ningxia Night Market if time permits

-Danshui
-Shilin Night Market

A few questions
1) if I'm planning to go to Martyr's Shrine to see the guard changing parade, which day should I slot this in?
2) Day 6, I'm not sure where else can I go. Any advise?

Oh I have hired a driver so it will be a 11-12hrs sightseeing day trip

But if I have time till about 4 before having to go back to hotel to pick up luggage and leave for airport since my flight is only at 7.55pm

Should be not bad but a detour. Go to their zoo n c pandas n gorilla koalas...

I suggest going zoo first in the morning..You can also take the gondola from inside the zoo..
