Hi:

I am planning to go Taiwan with my parents during mid October either 20 to 27 October or 14 to 21 October. I am a few places interested but I need some suggestion and also have some question.

My rough plan are as below:-

Day 1 Arrive Evening-Fengjia night market

Day 2 shishe lavender farm, Ah Ming Shi shop, xinshe sea of flowers, PaoChueh Temple, Fushoushan Farm (May Change if there is no flower to see)

Day 3 Cijing Farm and Taroko gorge

Day 4 Taroko gorge and Jiaoxi Hot Springs Hotel (For 2 Nights)

Day 5 Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, Pingxi and Danshui in the night for seafood

Day 6 Taipei F&E (Long Shan temple, Shilin Night Market)

Day7 Taipei F&E (Wu Fen Pu, Taipei 101)

Day8 Board Plane home

1) I really love to go Taroko gorge but I am worried that there would be a lot of walking which my mother hate. Is it possible to go there and explore but less walking involved?

2) I am confused is there a difference between shishe lavender farm and lavender cottage, which one is better?

3) I wished to add a fruit picking tour in it, can anyone suggest?

4) Where to buy the handmade taro milk mochi which is rectangular in shape?

5) Would like to stay in Taipei 101 area as the view is nice but most probably will catch a early morning flight so is it very risky staying so further away from the airport?

Day 3 CJ and Taroko in 1 day is not possible if you want to enjoy the scenic views. Usually it is CJ 1D1N and Taroko the next day and ended up in Hualien. CJ -> Taroko -> Hualien is a 1 day affair.

There is no need for a lot of walking in Taroko. Engage a driver to bring you to points of interests, get down the car, take photos, enter the fresh air, and then continue to the next destination.

For those who thinks taichung to cingjing to taroko and hualien in one day, better off u train to hualien. Faster than all those windy roads.

Safety very important. You will not want to come back in many pieces.
