Most important thing about opening Food store is the food taste and quality and most importantly is the price must be cheap.

Cannot survive in Yishun, Bt Batok and Bedok means too expensive.

F&B operators keep getting MSM and gahmen to help them stir simi customers not willing to pay is getting nowhere because sinkies cannot afford while foreigners cannot be bothered.

Just go learn from their predecessors how to manage costs, keep price low, maintain quality and make money through volume and not high margin.
Definitely not.rent issue lol.😁

It's 2025 oredi and people are sick of greedy hawkers blaming on the 2%-point GST increase or rent.

Hawker centre market rent is $1,250 and if ownself go bid $5K or $7K or $10K is ownself look for death.

Kopitiam or foodcourt or mall shop rents are known upfront and if not happy can walk away.

As for this operator, she ownself admit the closed outlets are not doing well i.e. not enough business.

By your logic the majority of hawkers who have been paying the same $1,250 for years should not increased prices at all? Those guys in kopitiam who signed 3+3 year lease should not have increased prices while still under the same rental contracts? How it all "still boils down to rental ah"?

A lot of these hawkers dunno why open so many branches one. Cant remain contented with focusing on one branch. All too short attention span and itchy finger.
Cost if done well, more stall = more multipler to overall earnings.

it wont make a difference. owen road is kind of "ulu" even though its near to town. i think can close within 1 year.

Prolly as influencer, engaged those business consultants. These consultants are As good as any of those agents out there. She could easily be gullible and naive to their satki "this is the best time" plans.

If she jus open 1 stall, no need simi biz or franchise consultants de.
