I not GZ expert but went once before...

I prepared a long list for that...go there must eat dim sum:

Dim Sum Recommendation 1:
泮溪酒家 this place is HUGE. It is by a lake. Nice scenery.
Alight at metro station 中山八 within walking distance.

Dim Sum Recommendation 2:
莲香楼 old school dim sum vibes. The serving is HUGE.
Alight at metro station 黄沙 within walking distance.

For dim sum please avoid 点都德 it's very "chainy"...appearing everywhere.
photo show 莲香楼 haha.. the one you introduce?

cantonese food show the freshness of the foods,

if too much seasonings covering the poor quality,,,, with due respect
ya i understand the point, but if the meat is not fresh and you season it heavily during cooking, you can still detect it's not fresh. cannot escape. i tried this many times before. you need fresh meat and vegetables to get the optimal taste. as food rots, proteins are degraded into amino acids and then into hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. that's how meat loses it's meaty flavour as it rots. i know because i've eaten rotten meat before to know how it tasted. meat and vegetables become tasteless once you detect a bad odour. now if you tried to cook rotten meat using heavy seasoning, you think you it will taste good? not at all. it's impossible. there's no way to restore great taste with seasoning

so coming back to cantonese food, it's probably similar to japanese food in some ways, especially with the reduced seasoning. it's not to my liking though. and based on what i described above, which is personal experience, i can confidently tell you there's no way you can disguise rotten food with heavy seasoning. BUT you can deep fry fresh meat and keep its flavour for a long time. deep frying causes food to be cross-linked, inhibiting decay

i don't like cai png. as for sweet and sour pork, as usual, if fresh ingredients are not used, it won't taste good. it's impossible to use heavy sauces to disguise rotten expired meat. i can detect it. you can detect it. everybody with a tongue will know it's off
