Hi everyone. I changed from using a sata 512gb Samsung 850 pro to a 500gb Samsung 960 evo.
Sequential speeds tested on the 960 evo was good giving me 3000mb read and about 1700mb writes as advertised.
The only problem I realised is the windows 10 boot Up time. My 850 pro seems to be faster.
When I power on, first page I see is a black screen showing geforce4 gtx 1080ti, next up is the American megatrends page( I went bios and removed logo page to start). After that the windows logo, with the circular dots spinning. At this juncture, for my 850 pro, it probably onky takes 2 or 3 seconds and it will launch the login page. Now on the 960 evo? It takes about 8 to 10 seconds before it goes to the login page.
Though it is still fast, wondering why it slower in boot times as compared to my previous 850 pro.
I tried things like disabling fast boot, disabling cms in bios, disabling my sata ports. Realise after installing my win 10, the volume is set to MBR. So I change it to GPT. Still no diff.
It's a clean win 10 installation as I also changed my whole rig.
Any ideas?
