9D Hokkaido in Spring

Hi all, I'm planning to do a 9 days self drive trip in Hokkaido in end apr, early may in order to coincide with the sakura period. Is it difficult to drive during that period? Read that some places still have snow. Any itinerary to share? Those i saw r typically for winter.

spring time shld be ok for driving. roads in japan are well maintained, so there shld be snow on major road.
where are u planning to drive to?
