Recently just bought air tix to Melb next year feb. Any recommendations to wear to stay (prefer hotel/ apartment with kitchenette).

Considering to go Tasmania/ Gold Coast or Sydney for 4D3N in between. But the prob is my wife and I don't drive and can only rely on public tpt or day tour

In need of help please guys...

Not sure about Tasmania, but it's best to drive in Gold Coast or have airbnb with transport service. Example sending u 1 way out to ur destination in the morning then u come back by public urself or uber back is affordable too. If your are going Sydney, don't drive cos it's more expensive then public transport. Sydney almost everywhere is walkable cos attractions quite close to each other
