Anyone who followed strictly on crossing the road on the signalisd junction. 99% is very safe . I dont understand why some people still want to dash across the road when it is not supposed to.

When I was in Korea and Japan. No one do that and everyone wait for their turn to cross although the traffic is clear. If u see a jaywalker. Very likely it is a Singaporean tourist.

If u have been to other countries. U will realize that Singapore has so many signalisd junction for pedestrian crossing . On top of zebra crossing and overhead bridge to make road crossing safe for everyone .

Sg traffic lights doesn't change colour immediately. After pedestrian light turns to red, got a few seconds before vehicle light turns green.

Sg traffic light got a pause between pedestrian light turning red and vehicle light turning green.

This jaywalker crossed after the lights already turned red, looking at how all the vehicles have moved off when the siaolang start dashing across the road

If change scenario, instead of siaolang jaywalker, a vehicle beat red light and drive into the path of all these vehicles, they will be punished 9696 and be liable for all damages.

So why got special treatment for pedestrian lawbreakers?

If they are not supposed to be there in the first place, and end up causing an accident, they should be at fault.

As mentioned, think the pedestrian probably crossed when the green man blinking. Even if there is a pause in change of traffic signal, walk still won't make it across big junction one. Have to run. Those who use traffic light often may know.

Often its cross halfway point turn red liao. So its either traffic give in, or pedestrian give in. If either also don't, then accident lor.

But usually at junction, most vehicles would be alert enough to slow down for the pedestrian to cross finish. However, its now always. Sure will have some not alert enough one. So, see heng suay.

Think if not too ignorance should know. Onus is almost always on vehicle user to look out for other lesser user. Cause vehicle is more powerful and has more potential to cause hurt. Thus vehicle user should be more alert to others in order not to get themselves into trouble.

Subjecting to circumstances, can try argue after the fact. But like it or not, the base line is there for the vehicle user to bear more responsibility.

Don’t understand why want to race off from the junction when no clear visibility to the right.

See so many such videos until I always move off slowly until can see clearly or the crossing fully blocked by other vehicles on my side.

No one expect siaolang to dash across 3 lane road when light is not in their favour, especially when you are on furthest lane

Nowadays I always assume got chance will have siao lang on bike or pmd or headphone wearing face-burier could suddenly make a dash for it.
