The pedestrian was walking initially but started to run. This means the pedestrian was aware it was green light for the vehicles but decided "they'll give way to me" mentality and continue anyway.

How to have sympathy you tell me?

The irony. But its not jaywalking. Its a traffic junction. Got use traffic light. Just not the right way. :s22:

It is still considered jaywalking if the pedestrian is crossing the junction when the traffic light is not in his favour

Just for clarification and educational purpose, jaywalking is the act of pedestrians walking in or crossing a roadway if that act contravenes traffic regulations.

The driver should have accelerated to make a bigger impact on the jaywalker.

Exactly. It is taken care of by the traffic laws. Drive below speed limit and always pay close attention. Then you will never hit anyone in your life or have to say “law of physics dude“ to a judge 🤣🤣🤣
Ok, you go drive below speed limit. Let you drive 69kmh on a 70kmh road, then suddenly a siaolang dash out less than 1m in front of you. Kym?

See whether you can stop in time or not.

And even if you can stop in time, can guarantee the vehicles behind you can stop in time or not?

And a reality check for the rest, refer to infographics by Govt of Queensland. To those who think they are exception to law of physics, even at 50kmh, other people take 35m to stop, they can stop within a few metres.

Because you are the driver operating a deadly machine. The law place the onus of safety and responsibilities on YOU! The law always protect the vulnerable no matter how righteous you think your case is . And it is NEVER right to cause grievous injuries or death.
Then how come if people go run across the train track, or airport tarmac, and kena run over by train drivers and pilots operating even deadier machines, it will be considered the trespasser's fault ah?

sg law penalise those operating on the machine vs human skin (unprotected)
You go run onto airport runway into path of airplane, you see whether they will charge the pilot for careless driving, or charge you for endangering the lives of everyone in the plane.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, is assisting with investigations, the police said.

33 yrs old jiu become PHV driver. Kinda sad if you think about it. Still got another 30yrs+ before retirement age

Why never consider getting a proper job with career progression?
