Like this never ending le. As of now, 1070 and 1080 looks good. Next yr release 1170 and 1180 then restart again.

If his budget allows, I don't see why not.. Unless his budget is 1k probably will advise alternatives already..

I mean your "future gaming". Software will always be one step ahead of hardware and by then even a 1080 will not be able to run a game in high/max eye candy. The most 1-2 yrs and you need to either 1) lower your game settings 2) invest in a better card 3) maybe bo chap and continue using. Some games now are so texting on current high end cards. :D

I fully agree on what you are saying. Though personally, I would rather buy something that can last me maybe 2-3 yrs if budget allows. By buying a lower end card, like 960, there is a high chance for a need to upgrade when a game of my interest is released and my card couldn't support

That's why you can either buy one of the best now or wait for 1070/1080 if budget allow. Both ways, by end of 2017 or start of 2018 you might need to look for new card again. :s13:

In the meantime while we advise you on the part should you really put your money down...

You can also look at overseas option too like amazon, for gpu, if you want. For local I highly discourage you to wack a 1080 so soon given how our distro like to sharpen their knives. Unless u are ok to wait abit. ;)

For GFX like US$600 msrp globally, they might go till SGD 1.2K here at sg for a start. lol. Just be mentally prepared
