Hi guys, it's been awhile since my last post. (i don't come here often unless for advice)

Previously i asked some of you bros about my PC upgrade but i went to get a macbook pro instead. This time round i will definitely get an upgrade! I have a change of brands to go for and i'm listing it down.

Please let me know weather i should upgrade or just get a new PC :)

Current Specs:
H55M-e33 (micro atx i assume)
i3 530
radeon 5770
PSU 500w
4gb memory
windows 7 64bit (damaged, constant crash)

Upgrades i'm looking into:
Asrock Z77 extreme 4-m (Also micro ATX) WITH i7 3770k: ~$599
*Keeping my graphics card OR upgrade to gtx 670
toshiba 3tb 7200rpm 64mb s3 - $155
PSU 750w ~ $149
cpu cooler ~ $100?
16GB RAM (new because current onces are corrupted) Corsair vengeance 8gb x2 -$95 each

I'm looking for a suitable shop that would replace the parts for me. If even better i could trade in my parts for little cash, but i guess nobody wants my parts anymore since it's 3 years old.

Any advice from you bros appreciated! Cheers

Damaged?:s22: you can always reformat :s22:

Actually Haswell is coming out why don't you wait first? Since the cost should be similar or 10% more

Graphic Card wise doesn't make much diff. Since you are doing CG you should be using workstation class GPU unless you want to play games.
Geforce & Radeon are for playing games. you can still do CG
Quadro and Firepro works better in 3D environment development

toshiba 3tb 7200rpm 64mb s3 - $155
PSU 750w ~ $149
500-600W should be sufficient.since you are running single GPU
cpu cooler ~ $100?
u don't really need unless you intend to overclock
16GB RAM (new because current onces are corrupted) Corsair vengeance 8gb x2 -$95 each
it's good to have more RAM for doing CGI. make sure u are running 64bit OS

you can try selling your parts in ebay or some 2nd hand shop but dun expect much

Any advice from you bros appreciated! Cheers

Is it wise to upgrade the PSU and a graphics card (GTX 680) first? My friend is selling his Grahphics card and i'm quite tempted to get it. But i'm afraid my motherboard couldn't handle it. Or could it?
