blueant and jawbone also not too bad...buy from amazon, much cheaper
only i can say for any electronics products now IT DEPENDS ON YOUR LUCK... for me Plantronics is a very good bluetooth compare to others... this is for my own opinion...
i think your model if i'm not wrong is discovery 975 with the pouch charger....very good BT
jawbone got service centre? i'm looking at those with noise and preferably those best suited for outdoor usage like in the subway or with noisy environments.
Hi guys,
I feel that this is a fact you should know before any of you dive head in to purchase a Plantronics headset.
Please note that any Plantronics bluetooth headset purchased in Singapore has a 1 year warranty (1 to 1 exchange) and after that you cannot get it repaired as there is no Platronics repair centre in Singapore. You can always verify this.
Imagine you bought a Plantronics headset over S$200 and after 1 year, it breaks down. You are told the warranty is over, there is no repair service and you are given a small discount off the cost price to purchase the same model. With the new headset, after 1 year, if it breaks down, then what? Another discount? So everytime after warranty expires, you need to spend MORE money to purchase a new headset as it cannot be repaired?
Yes it happened to my colleague and I. We bought expensive Plantronics headsets and after the warranty is over, it breaks down and we just had to write off the broken headsets as bad investments....
I do not deny Plantronics headsets has good noise cancelling and reception, but after the 1 year warranty is over, if it breaks down, then you face the same situation as me...
Anyone else face before the same situation as me?
Hi Eric,
This is Richard from Ban Leong Technologies. I had spoken to you regarding your faulty Discovery 975. I understand you are upset the product broke down after 15 months of usage. Anyone would hence I was offering you the PC Show promotional price 2 weeks prior to the show (I called you on the 24th of May). The promotion price offered to you was more than 20% of the usual Suggested Retail Price.
I hope this would have given you a reason to consider continuing with a Plantronics headset by lowering your replacement cost and saving you the hassle of visiting the PC Show to get the same promotional offer. Kindly note Plantronics does not offer a repair service thus we at Ban Leong are unable to do so.
We value all our customers hence we do our best to help them. I seek your understanding that our assistance is only possible within means available to us.
Hi Richard,
The promotion price offered to me is also offered to Anyone at the PC Show, which is also 20% off the suggested retail price (product is over a year since launch maybe thats why reduced price now). Doesnt make my case any different when the price is the same for everyone, except i paid $200 for a broken product that is useless to me now...
After you state "our assistance is only possible within means available to us", i do understand... Not blaming you. But on your part, maybe you can highlight to your bosses of this "lack of support" and see if what changes can be made. I believe some companies send to overseas repair centres for malfunction products..
I want to share my experience with the HWZ bros and at least they know of this "lack of support after warranty", before they buy any Plantronics headsets in future.

Koelsch what brand are your earphones?
Its time i get rid of this suppose to "build to last" brand...

Oh..am thinking of getting platronics too as i like their design....but after hearing it....either getting jabra which the design also not so bad or I will get platronics from amazon...
But do note that warranty is covered by local distributor Setelco as well so not straight through Jabra =)Same here.. Heard Jabra can do repairs.. Dont want to be in same situation as TS![]()
buy from Amazon no Sg warranty leh
