Hi guys, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to building/getting parts for a computer, so I need your tips on what i should get for my gaming rig.

I mainly play CS:GO currently but I want to be able to play the modern games at mid-high settings without any issue, in case I do wanna get into those games. I do not need any peripherals but I do need an OS.

My budget is around 1200, best is staying below 1300.Thanks guys

MB + CPU: MSI B85M-G45 + I5-4460 - $336
RAM: CORSAIR VENGENCE 1600MHZ (4GB x 2) - $116
GPU: SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 280 3GB GDDR5 OC WITH BOOST (Buy from Lazada) - $285
SSD: CRUCIAL MX100 256 GB - $154
HDD: WD BLUE 1TB - $68
PSU: Seasonic G Series 550W - $120
CASE: Fractal Design Core 1500 - $85
OS: Windows 8.1 Home 64BIT - $138

Estimated 1302

Write down the parts on a piece of paper, without these prices, bring to Tradepac @ #05-18 Sim Lim Square, ask them for a quote. They should be able to quote you lower than this.

Try to DIY yourself, I also just learnt how to DIY last year :)
No matter what, don't ask Tradepac to assemble for you. If really need someone to assemble for you, bring to Nigel @ #02-32 ask him to help you with the assembly, give him a fee of $20-$50.

Also note I didn't add in a DVD Drive, since most people nowadays don't use them. You can go online google how to install Windows from a USB drive. A min. 4GB thumb drive is needed.

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I have a few questions,
Will there be a noticeable difference if i get smaller a gig SSD?
I think the fastest I will go down to SLS is next week since I need to go my new unit, so will the GPU still be at that price when I get out?

The decrease in performance when using a smaller SSD is not very noticable unless you run SSD benchmarks. You will only feel a reduction in performance when the SSD is almost full.

The GPU prices should still be the same next week as Convergent Systems is holding this sale to clear stocks of the Sapphire R9 280 GPU.

No, the GPU is perfectly fine. It is just that the R9 280 are being replaced by the R9 285 and thus currently, retailers all over the world are slashing prices on the R9 280 GPUs in order to clear stocks on the older R9 280 to make way for the R9 285. Both the R9 280 and the R9 285 have somewhat similar performance with the older R9 280 having superior performance only when the game actually uses its 3GB of VRAM for processing graphics.

Don't worry about the problem, it happens to all graphic card not just R9 280. It depend on how unlucky you are.

R9 280 is ALOT MORE THAN ENOUGH to play CS:GO at mid/high setting. It can play Crysis at high setting with decent frame rate.
