This thread dates back to 2003... First page no updates... Things change a lot liao... Saw a newbie in another thread asking for online brokerage advise, wanna link him here but then he will have to read through the 10 pages to find the answer... Not that jialat, but why not do a updated thread? How to refresh this thread? Create a new online brokerage thread?

http://deluxeforums.hardwarezone.co...account-singapore-updated-2012-a-3628498.html

This sticky thread most updated in 2014, first few posts will compare all brokerages services, facilities, features, interface, fee etc and also the online link for the account opening pdf forms

I have been answering all the possibles questions regarding account opening there le, newbie can refer there for archive questions they might have

Maybe need mod to edit title to remove "updated 2012" from the thread title ba

Applying for CIMB trading acc, saw that they have quite good tools on Mobile for trading, and attractive rates.
Hope i made the right choice :)

You need cash upfront and a citibank saving account which needs to maintain Minimun $3000 deposit in it even though it's $18 buy and sell via cdp

Might as well use cimb star saver cash upfront or dbs bank cash upfront to trade which is flat 0.18% and $18 min but that's only for buy. Normal prevailing rate of $25 min applies for sell

commission for dbsv went up? seems like its 0.375% for under 50k base on the website..is this rate applicable to dbs cash upfront ? thanks.

Yes, I can confirm they are from Philips.

One thing I notice is remisiers are charging the same rate as dealers, is this the norm nowdays? No difference between trading online and offline too.

remisers and dealers are the same, the main difference is who take more risk, who take more commission, and who wan more business.

some remisers are still charging their old clients offline rate too, but lately there isnt any difference between online and offline rate to remain competitive, but this has already become the norm, and so the new trend of being competitive is about slashing the minimun if the contract value is of below certain tier or amount like $2000

so can i clarify that the custodian fee will be waived if i make at least 2 trades per month. 2 trades can be local trades or have to be in the ASX market?
