why your pics all so wide??

4:3 pics is better???!!!
One reason is the lens

the other reason is I didn’t like 1:1 or 4:3. Even without lens I’ll set the setting to crop to 16:9.

My actual preference is in between 1.8 to 2.4 but lazy to crop. All these are unprocessed (they are straight out low res jpeg so nothing to process either).

for vertical shots ya I prefer 4:3 or slightly wider. I agree these are not nice but I mostly shot horizontally

#111 casa mila: the rooftop goes in an oval shape with people trying to take photo over the fence to take pictures of the inner side of the roof that looks like a mushroom head with pores.

#113 the area is big but there can be easily 50 to 100 people up there. despite of an untimely hot afternoon. with the fence and many people it is not possible to get a clean shot.

#114. the blessing is a clear sky and some glimmering reflection, with many shots tilting up. there are a lot of people using selfie sticks. and also plenty of single atb there. if one wants to have a chance to be no longer bbfa, go there and you might have a chance to help them take photo.

#115. i wonder if a tripod and a ND filter with long exposure would make such photos nicer with the clouds moving over a longer duration. but tripod kills the fun of traveling. and not many places to hold a gorillapod. i've seen many girls with their flimsy tools, some with very light tripod that looks like they are going to fall and some have those small handphone stand but only allows them to put on the floor.

#117 view of sagrada from casa mila. i think next time if i ever go again, i will look for good vantage points to take sagrada from a distance (but maybe not this far).

#123 the entrance goes through an underground pass

#124 one of the many buildings showcase their ward that had very high ceilings ; ventilation must be very good, but not sure of their insulation.

#125 a glimpse of their very nice buildings.

#126 st pau came as a package for me since it is close to sagrada. there are also a couple of package combinations that u can buy to save some bucks. i think it is worthwhile coming and it turn out nicer than i think. i chose sagrada 6-7pm (late sunset in summer) and so st pau was done 3-5pm, but one can work out the itinerary, some of the buildings at st pau are best shot in the morning facing the eastside sun.

#127 my shots at the interior of sagrada i deemed myself failed. i could not isolate to my satisfaction. most of the pictures are too cluttered. could this be my own lack of creative eye, or is it like what one say that the interior is not nice.

what i heard is a few time points are great,
- early in the morning with no crowd, or at about
- 4pm with the afternoon light at an angle (not sure if it is affected by season.

anyway i wanted to come at sunset, so i book the visit at 615 and tower at 7pm. it is separated by 45mins, which one can see the interior, then up the tower then down again to see the interior.

#128 it is not until i manage to find this two lady with nice dress that anchor as subjects. but still nothing to shout about.

#129 at the time that i went this year, we can opt for one of the two towers to ascend. the facade i chose is Nativity facade. it goes by a lift and once u r up there, it is a short bridge with huge wind, and u r pressured to advance as u r blocking people behind you. it is all caged up understandably due to the height, and also still under construction for god knows how long.

and whether one feel it is worthwhile to pay the extra dollar for tower access, i cant say for sure as it seem subjective.

#130 up by lift but no lift going down. the walking down after crossing this bridge at the top is then steep staircase (something that may be a concern for people afraid of height, plus size or claustrophobic). i actually think the walk down is not bad. giving you another view that u cant see up close from bottom

#131 another view of the city up there on the facade. i am weak at doing research of choosing vantage points for buildings from a distance. so being able to shoot Glòries Tower from sagrada is purely incidental.
