I will be buying vg248qe i wonder will my gpu powercolor r9 290 pcs+ utilize the monitor? because i prefer more fps

Depends on settings.. For BF4 in ultra with no AA, around 90-100fps. Ultra with 2xAA around 80-90fps. Ultra with 4xAA around 65-80fps. More sh*t flying around like smoke n all will further reduce the fps. That was before 14.2, the 13.xx beta drivers.

On 14.2, with mantle, it was around 60-80 fps for certain maps on ultra 2xAA... But, very stable. Fluctuate a bit instead of a lot w/o mantle.

1 r9 290 max with everything turn on the most i think can only give 73 fps average according to what i have tested. Max 95fps.

You wont be able to hit 144hz/144fps to smoothen it further. Unless you tone low mid settings then may be.

But, if u can, go for the BenQ XL2420Z. Many have commented that the XL2420TE has better colours than the VG248QE despite both being TN, and the XL2420Z is an upgraded XL2420TE. Only drawback is that it is ex at S$699. But, amazon should be selling at $369, and if u can managed to ask CSO to waive off shipping and pay a little GST, it would be a good price you will be getting, at a risk of coz.

Hahaha I think if the gpu don't have the juice to go so high also no use getting 144... The smoothness will be the same as lower hertz monitors

It wun affect ur framerates, but rather those fast moving objects will b clearer. Good for FPS games.

Hahaha I think if the gpu don't have the juice to go so high also no use getting 144... The smoothness will be the same as lower res monitors

tbh i doubt many or any people can tell between 120 and 144

Main genre affected is FPS, second is RPG if u like to move between area a lot and very fast, third is movies, etc. Btw, what is single player action? As lomg as u move fast, it will help.

if rpg games, the speed is not that fast, want to move fast also cannot.

action games like tomb raider 2013, hitman absolution, darksiders series.
