About FPS

Hi i currently have 3x Dell S2340L 60hz running on a 1070ti (with Nvidia surround) which currently gives me a max of 60FPS (due to the limited Hz i received on my 60hz monitor)

I plan to replace one of my monitor with Prism+ X340 as my main screen and 2x side screen of S2340L (60hz) without Nvidia surrounding with X340 and 2x S2340L side screen.

My question is
1) Will this configuration affect the FPS when running games just on my x340 even with the 2x side screen of 60hz?

I know is a overkill setup but i need this setup for both gaming and productivity (work)

This is super confusing.

FPS don't have anything to do with Monitor Refresh rate unless you have Vsync on...

1) It will not affect any FPS. X340 is a 100Hz panel, if you enable Vsync, it will limit to a max of 100 fps.

2) You can run different refresh rates for different monitors. Most games allow you to choose which display you wish to project onto so just put onto your x340.

3) Disable Vsync and there will be no more limited FPS to Refresh-rate of the monitor.

Im not sure about this i did try to turn the Vsync off and i can reach more than 100plus to 200 FPS... but the screen starts to tear, i was told because my monitor only have 60hz

Yupe. Vsync is just to synchronise the FPS with the refresh rate of the Monitor, which is 60Hz, thus it got limited to 60fps. That will eliminate tearing.

Now there is newer technology which doesn't keep the refresh rate of the monitor constant. Gsync for Nvidia GPU and Freesync for AMD GPU. These techs synchronise the Refresh Rate to the FPS instead.

You can keep the Vsync on if you don't like tearing.

aka Freesync is AMD's brand name for VESA Adaptive Sync they use...
