About laptop warranty

Hi all, I'm considering buying either a yoga 13 or MacBook air 13 as my budget is about 1.5k. However, there's still a warranty to be considered. As I have no intention of spending 1.8k in one go, is it possible to purchase the warranty from epic centre subsequently, say within a month or two after my purchase of the laptop? If I were to buy a yoga 13 from courts or Harvey Norman, can I purchase warranty separately after laptop has been bought? Thanks.

As far as I know, for Apple products. can purchase Apple Care within 60-90 days or before the standard warranty expires. Apple Care for Mac Air can be brought from EPIC Centre of cos.

For Lenovo, I think they do allow purchase of extended warranty beyond the standard warranty coverage and must do so within the warranty period and subject to Lenovo Singapore approval after inspecting your laptop. That is what I was told by the Lenovo Service Centre customer service guy at Changi. Prices for extended warranty also varies depend on the model of the products. Singapore is ONE of the countries that Lenovo does not allow purchase of extended warranty via internet/online unlike in US and definitely not like APPLE warranty where Apple does not even look or inspect your product for extended warranty but buy at user risk if the warranty claim is unfortunately rejected by APPLE.

That is as far as I understand, not an expert in this but hope that I am giving you the correct info as far as I know.....

Do that note that for Lenovo, buying the extended warranty as a bundle should be much more cheaper than buying it separately I guess.... Pay by credit card if you can and get interest free installments...

Guess I'll buy the laptop and purchase the extended warranty from apple. First let me find out how long is the gap between the 2 events.

Yes, most of the business or enterprise class laptop will come with a 3 years warranty if I am not wrong. I have been using ThinkPad so I know ThinkPad sold locally will carry a 3 years warranty (of cos it is also selling more expensive here too), other brands from DELL/HP/Toshiba should have too.

Most entry, entertainment or gaming laptops are 1 year warranty although some come with 2 years warranty like MSI gaming laptops. ASUS laptops I am not so sure..

For lenovo yoga, you can also buy in installments first, then the warranty later. Not an issue on our side.

Thinkpads default already have 3 years warranty. Yes, we can do the installments.

Toshiba some model is 3 yrs. Lenovo & ASUS, most model is 1 or 2 yrs.
