HI is me again, just some question to ask..

Just bought my new HDD and formatted it already
based on my previous post some of the guys recommend me to do raid 1 on my HDD..

1) if I'm gonna do raid 1, will my data in my other HDD be formatted too??
2) and total I have 2TB how much space should I do?? Mostly games and videos

Thanks

Short answer, RAID1 = all data on both disks will be destroyed.

Long Answer, Might be possible for u to migrate from 1 disk to RAID1 (thus keeping all ur data), depending on whether ur RAID controller supports it.

Ultimately, u need to understand y do u need a RAID1

Don't see a need why you need to raid 1.

cause my current HDD around 3 years old, send for RMA once so yeah

understand how raid1 works.. hmmm

Haiyo your usage so basic you wanna do raid šŸ˜‘ You're better off without doing raid and just use that 2tb, you only use raid if your data is crucial.. Movies and games aren't!

Pointless to do a raid 1 if u don't have very important data. Just follow what ^ mentioned. 1 drive for regular use, 1 drive for backup only.
