not all schools behave simmilarly, because im from a private school which recives partial funding, it tend to behave
differently from government schools on certain things due to the different management style adopted by the school
for all i know, unless you came from overseas, or missed every single exam if your current school, there is no reason to not have results from this year, because i believe one test does not neccesariliy represent your entire year's worth of academic results, for example, a normally slackish student constantly failing his exams might just buck up for this one, and hence get good results, thus schools would need results on which to backup your choice of subjects. which is most commonly found in your report book, no school is stupid enough to generate trouble for themselves
on the entrance exam thing, im afraid i dare not make assumptions, all my transfer friends have their sec1 ,sec2 results, even the scholars from china, whom i belive have the results from their school in xi'an, you would have to ask the particular school which you want to transfer to, just be sure to get an adult to do it, an average office staff does not take students too seriously, i've had bad experiences...
lastly, even if they place you in the lousiest combination possible, you still have Additional,elemantry maths, combined humanities, which is geography and social studies
mother tounge , english, and one combined sciences, chem-bio, bio-phy, phy-chem, unless your a humanities freak, you can otherwise use your combined science to apply for probation into pure sciences classes, you only need to score well for your CA1 if im correct, although im not sure of the works for humanities, never heard of a pure geography probation before
ps- sorry for late reply, im studying for my o lvls, which is next week, and i hardly touch anything related to computers nowadays
pps, i saw some PRC students taking exams when i finished my eng paper dis monday, and im sure that is how they get arranged into classes, so maybe the school you want to go to has this system as well?
