Hi everyone, I have got some bad news to declare. I have been caught cheating twice in the past and as a result I got Fs and couldn’t get out of academic warning in time. As a result, I just received my results today and was notified of academic expulsion. I study in SIT and I am really at a loss about what should I do next. Is there any uni that I can still apply for? I have thought of SUSS part time degree as it is less hectic and more manageable for me.

Your cheating may be a systemic issue which you probably should look to fix it first?

If not, even if you get accepted by any institutions, you might cheat again and you will be back at square one.

And if say institutions don't accept you because of this history, maybe by getting help and seek treatment if it is systemic issue, at least they can view that as something you tried to change and accept you again

Yea and that’s why I am gg to book a session with my counselor. But at the same time I need insights on what should I do next as I am not planning to work. The course I studied in poly is not of my interest.

Well you can try to apply for other institutions, you don’t need permission to do so.

But do you think even if you get accepted, anything will change?

Not sure if u apply at SUSS will they do a background check...take note and take care Bro!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! However I have received an email from the school requesting me to write an appeal on how do I intend to achieve good standing status. Has anyone who have been terminated and written an appeal? I am curious what did u guys mentioned to convince them.

It is okay to feel lost but you have to move on. Perhaps you can share what will interest you? Or a bit more background. Then we can provide some suggestions. If uncomfortable, maybe can PM me.
