May I know did you go to Sami for P2? If yes, what is the text book they use over at LSBF?

LSBF have their own text book and notes..notes are prepared by sami..he take all the past year questions and consolidate them into notes..so you dont have to worry not enough question to practice..lol

Hi all !

anyone took P5 before?

i was disappointed to know that sami will only be covering the 1st 7 lessons for P5  (i took all his papers and he is superb ! =:p)

the rest will be covered by "well known lecturer" (hint: roy???)

anyone took p5 under roy before ? is he good?

or should i just go for elaine at kaplan (plus kaplan is cheaper ...)

thanks ! :s12:

either combination of the option papers also can as long as finish acca. p7 is for practising cpa. so p4 p5 also can attain cpa mah. :)

yup but i dont know if you still have to take their PE even for non practising.

no need la. if need then those doing UOL -> ACCA have to become UOL->ACCA->ICPAS PE. Whereas they can do UOL->ICPAS PE. ACCA would be a burden for them isn't it.

But all these becomes uncertain because of the introduction of ICPAS QP. I think the new standard is that anyone who wish to attain CPA SG needs to go through ICPAS QP. But i'm not sure those that have CPA Aus can use MRA to gain recognition as CPA SG or even they have to go through QP.

So ultimately, we just have to wait for the finalised QP to be announced..anything we say now is just speculation ba :)

P.S: i heard that they are removing the difference in membership. meaning no more practising or non-prac, just CPA. but the authority to sign audit reports still granted by ACRA. just no difference in designation.

I don have a good feelin of clearing p2 for the recent sitting, so I heard that i have to reg p2 paper together with the optional papers for the next sitting inorder to sit for optional papers. what if I pass all the optional papers for the next sitting but fail p2 again? will my optional papers consider as pass and then just to resit p2 again?

Can anyone advise me on this?

Thanks!

that would be great if they remove the difference. So membership fee will be the same by then lol

the keyword is áttempt'.. options papers are open for choosing once u attempted P1-P3, or if u are attempting your remaining P papers with options in the same exam sitting.

i think i will postpone P2 to be with P7.. i need a break from P2 lol
