Hi guys, have a few questions to ask regarding ACCA. Firstly, is it possible to take ACCA while studying for a degree? Is the recognition of an ACCA cert the same as an accountancy degree from NTU/ NUS? Thanks for all the inputs in advance.

Good morning guys,

I have decided to take 3 subjects this sitting but am currently confused as to which papers should I take.

I need to choose 3 papers from F8, P1, P2 and P3 and it would be greatly appreciated if someone can advise me on the viability of attempting both F8 and P1 in one sitting.

I understand that F8 is linked to P1, but is the mastery of F8 required for P1 or can they be studied in tandem?

Thanks in advanced for any inputs

Regards

It is not necessary to master F8 to ensure that you can cope P1 syllabus. They can be studied in tandem. F8 and P1 exam requirements are different. It is good to be familiar with P requirement and its difficulty level early before you can deal other P papers.

who choose ACCA only? I still deciding also, as far as I can see, the only advantage of ACCA only is no need pay double fee to ICPAS.

Future acca students are only given the option of ACCA only, I'm thinking that ICPAS might be better if you're working in SG, which is the case for most people here?

based on fresh grad with no working experience... most employers (especially big4) will still generally favour local Unis (NTU, NUS, SMU)

This is on Singapore context. Not sure about overseas.

i chose the ICPAS plus route... can get CPA (Singapore) at the same time while getting ACCA. :vijayadmin:
