hi guys, can i check with you all which combination is better?

F6+F9 or F8+F9?

Also, anyone can recommend good tutors for F6 and F9? Coz for F9 usually see people recommend Sami from LSBF..

Thanks!:)

Joanna @ Kaplan is quite good in F6. Very clear explanation.

Hi all!

Just registered for ACCA and will be taking the F2 paper in December. I have exemptions for F1 and F3. I have been looking around for study materials but the amount of things I have turned up is really confusing (study texts, revision kits, exam kits, notes etc).

May I seek your advice on what and where to get to prepare for the F2 paper? Also, I would like to get some material for F1 and F3 to refresh my memory. Thank you!

Hi Unmarked!

Welcome to ACCA! :)

Will you be attending lessons for F2? The more popular schools appear to be Kaplan, SAA and LSBF. The study materials can be broken down as follows:

Study texts - Textbooks
Revision/exam kits - A book of practice questions and past year papers
Notes - usually lecture notes from respective schools

In terms of preparation for F2, attending class would be useful, but I personally find my Kaplan textbooks comprehensive enough. The exam kit is also an excellent guide for getting a feel of exam questions.

I've got the Dec 2010 F1 and F3 Kaplan textbooks and exam kits if you're interested. I will be selling them at $40 each but open to negotiation.

Hope this helps! :)

Hi FCP,

Will recommend that you take at least online lessons and get the softcopy notes if you are unable to make it for the actual classes for Level 3 and F7, F9 papers. But if you're already in the accounting lines, then you should be able to do it by getting help from mentors where clarification is required and lots of practise. Try it for a sem and see whether that works for you.

Last I'm aware of, Kaplan offers soft copy notes from their lecturers while LSBF has both notes and online resources access. I prefer the notes from Kaplan though.

And if you really ain't gonna take up lessons, at least take up the revision courses from Kaplan which had helped me tons as I usually had to skip my tutorials.

Hope this helps!

You are of great help! thanks.

Actually im not from accounting degree (im currently still taking a degree prog and graduating in a year time) and have done a few accounting modules before. Have been considering to take up accounting course for long and always take up financial controller roles in all major projects.

Therefore I'm not going for any exemptions even though I took F1 and F3 before.

I spoke to the ACCA person today and he mentioned that they will give us recommended publication to study on, is it the same as whatever is provided in Kaplan? Yes, I will go for the revision courses, which is also recommended by ACCA person today.

I have been doing well in accounting modules (distinctions and As) and this time round I just thought of further enhance my skills in accountng and move on to accounting career after grad.

:)

WTS: P5 ACCA Revision Kit and Revision Cards for exams in 2013

Hi,

I have P5 Revision Kit (LSBF) and Revision Cards (LSBF) for exams sitting in 2013, so it will be applicable for Dec 2013 sitting.

I took P5 in June 2013 and I would not need it already. (Will not be retaking in Dec 2013 even if the result is not satisfactory.)

I attended the revision classes and have the class written notes as well. Willing to let go of them too.

PM me if anyone would like to purchase the Revision Kit and Revision Cards. As for the price (for the whole set of P5), I am looking at $100 but it is negotiable.

Thank you.
