Hi guys, just to check if sami or roy will be good for P2? I took sami's F7 and am wondering if roy and sami's consol teaching method for F7 is it same? :s12:

To me Sami is really awesome. I was studying F7 previously at Kaplan under a very terrible tutor which I dont want to mention his name but he has now no longer teaching ACCA programme. Sami's method of consolidation is probably the best according to my friends who have compared Sami's and Roy's method. Sami's method is very simple as he uses 1 table for all consolidation. Be it complex group, pieacemeal acq and disposal and overseas subsidiary. All 1 table. whereas for Roy i heard he uses quite a few different tables.. Not too sure about this. Would be good if someone can confirm

I was lectured by both Roy and Sami. I would say i prefer Roy very much. Sami had poor time planning and when i went for his F7 class previously, he was using notes written by Roy. Roy teaches from the fundamentals and ensures that you are clear with concepts. Whereas for Sami, he sure provides shortcuts. But I took a lot of pain figuring out how these shortcuts worked and how to apply them... You cant apply them to all cases and you must understand the basics first...

Hi, will u mind to share the lecturer for P1 and P3? How's it?
Thanks a lot.

I took P1 and P3 at Kaplan. P1 under Siow Pin, and P3 under Andy Tan. I would say Siow Pin is decent, but no "wow" factor. Andy is good for P3, although u have to really listen in class as he uses power point slides which can be brief and u have to copy down the further explanation yourself. Otherwise u can always just read his lecture notes. its very comprehensive and if u missed out certain stuff u can always refer to it. Hope it helps :)

Seemed like roy and sami both got their good points. haha! because i took F5 under roy and his lesson is really interesting. And took F7 with sami sometimes his shortcut i could only just memorise it without understanding what's gg on thou.

ok bah to me i choose sami purely because of my friend's recommendation on his consolidation method for p2. i have to say i really didnt regret ( i had to pay more cos i only took 1 module at LSBF and the rest at kaplan) and it was money well spent HAHA. But i have to admit he uses alot of shortcuts.. i guessed at the end of the day its what you prefer :)

Those intending to take up P2 may like to consider Suzannah Tan from Kaplan, took her lectures last semester & exam in Dec2013, passed with 1st attempt. Find her consolidation tactics very good, straightforward, clear and easy to understand.:s22:

Hi, intend to take up P6,Advance Taxation classes in July, any advices on P6 lecturers. Considering between Kaplan, Tommy Yee cos location at Somerset(for night classes) more convenient and LSBF, Yvonne Ching, thanks.

I took F2 with Suzannah, she is good abit similar to Esther (P4) as in can relate difficult concept into easy to understand and apply method. Then again my assessment of her is base on F2 a basic module as compare to a heavy module like P2. :s12:
