Hi knowledgeable ACCA members,

I would like to know how to go about clocking the duration for experience for ACCA if you are working under a non ACCA Approved Employer?

I'm currently working under an ACCA Approved Employer (Audit Firm) for 2 years 7 months, but I don't think I can endure until 3 years, so I'm wondering how difficult it is to clock the remaining months in a commercial firm which is not in the list of ACCA Approved Employer list. I know for ACCA Approved Employer, you just need to let your Employer sign the ACCA form for the period of employment. But I have no idea about the procedures for non-ACCA Approved employers.

Any experienced ACCA members can give me some suggestions and enlighten me on this matter? It will be highly appreciated! Thank you!

You should probably ask Kelvin the local ACCA biz dev manager... just give him a call :s22:

Can acca graduate become an Singapore CA? I read from somewhere that sac is changing their regulation... I also heard from ppl from big 4.. they are starting to only accept sqp ppl.. I need to get more info before I either jump into acca or sqp:)

It's like comparing between a UK master's degree and a Singapore bachelor's degree. 😂

You need to check with SAC directly. They will accept both acca and sqp if they are both acca approved employers and sqp accredited training organisations.

Hey guys, sorry for disturbing but I really need your advice.

I just passed my last paper in June exam so I'm thinking whether should I pursue UNIVERSITY OF LONDON MSC IN PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANCY or Singapore QP.

Definitely UOL Msc. The final 5 papers for SQP are similar to ACCA professional level papers except that they are open book exams. Choose SQP if you don't mind taking 5 similar exams all over again.

Thanks for your reply, is there any alternative courses to take if I'm not interested to be an auditor (E.g. tax / advisory) ?

You can consider Specialist Certificate in Taxation from The Association of Taxation Technicians Singapore Limited (ATTS).

However there is a review of the curriculum now and would cease accepting new applications until further notice.

Out of touch from ACCA

Hello, I am thinking of re-register with ACCA again as I have about 3 more professional papers to clear. Can check must we re-register with ISCA?

Can check if it is feasible if I go for P3 revison class in Nov 17 and take the exam in Mar 18? Can we actually self study P3? Which lecturer is recommended for P3?

I am also confused by the part where I read that ACCA is not the "in" thing now in some other threads. As I am out of touch for several years, what is actually the "in" thing to study now?

Thanks.

ACCA got nothing to do with ISCA.

I believe they have remove 10 years time frame to pass ACCA.
So, please contact ACCA to find out more about your membership status. As long as it can be activate back, you can register and sit for exam and clear it.

I don't know where you heard that it is the "in" thing to study. It has always been an alternative worldwide to local curriculum to achieve professional accountant certification, albeit it's granted from UK.

Good luck, imo - since you left only 3 papers, please clear it.
