hello everyone :s13:

is the workload of ACCA heavy? izzit possible to take a degree and at the same time study for ACCA?

Can. But... what's the point in doing so? If u don't want to do accounting, or something that involves accounting but not as a profession itself, just go for a double major. If u want to do accounting, just go for ACCA or a Bacc. Life is short, why waste it. Having another piece of paper won't make u a lot more employable.

Guys, I'd like to ask which is a better school to do my ACCA with?

I am doing Kaplan now, and they offer really superb service. But of course, i'm only just past my 4th lesson, and i can't be sure that it'll stay that way. Go for the lecturer instead. Different schools offer different lecturers. Not all schools have good lecturers in every ACCA subject.

Hmm, how do I know which lecturers are good?

I'm planning to complete ACCA within a timelength of 3 years, could you please kindly advise on the combination of subjects per sem I should take?

secondary 4 student taking O? why dun u take A level or go Poly? u can't do ACCA with O levels.

Go for A levels. Then do Accountancy in SMU, NTU or NUS.. u will have better job prospect.

That will require advice from some of our more lao jiao forummers who've been there and done there. I can only tell you Yvonne Goh of F6, kaplan is very good. Leagues ahead of any lecturer i've had in SMU.

As for combination of subjects, generally F1-F3 can take in 1 sitting. Try not to take more than 2 papers a sitting from F4 and onwards. Esp if you're working. Most people reach home at 8, they won't have more than an hour or 2 of revision. In fact, only the steel-willed will do enough revision for 2 papers.

as i have the directive from army regarding disruption, the answer to your question is No.

ACCA is not a educational qualification e.g diploma, degree. It is a professional qualification.

Therefore, you cannot use it to defer/disrupt.

You can try your luck in NS and see if you can get 8-5. I'm taking acca while in NS now. haha

What nonsense it this? Please provide your basis on claim that e local uni's degree provides better job prospect.

And FYI, O levels student CAN do ACCA.

Unfortunately, can't be done. You might wanna try what I did as well, taking ACCA part time during NS, but be warned, it's gonna be very taxing. No social life.

Hey everyone, I'm just went through (briefly) 40 pages of the ACCA thread and I'm still a li'l apprehensive.

I graduated with a dip in IT with a borderline gpa, hence the an acc deg in the local unis' out of the question. I'm going to sign up for SIM-RMIT and SMA-Murdoch acc courses, but I'm not hopeful that they will accept me (and SMA-Murdoch got a application fee of 500$, a rejection letter sure will hurt :( )

So now, I'm probably gonna sign up for ACCA too as a backup plan (I'm not saying ACCA is inferior, just not my preferred option). Where should I do my ACCA with? Kaplan/SAA? What factors in when considering which school to sign up with? I prefer not to take more than 3 years to complete ACCA.

Also, if I get selected for RMIT Bacc course, is it advisable to also do my ACCA (as an addon) in my 2nd year?

Thanks in advance, guys :)

Thank all for replying to my question :) Ya it is not true tt Uni will have better job prospect too. So i guess i will have to enlist into army after my O lvls and decide whether i wan to take my ACCA during army or after army.

anyway, how is it possible for mi to take ACCA when i am in army if i am not injured or in Arts music or admin.
